DIRECTIONS TO COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

FROM AUGUSTA VIA HIGHWAY 78:
If you travel from Augusta to Athens on Highway 78 through Washington, GA, you will pass a Super Wal-Mart shopping center on your right as you get near Athens. One mile from the Wal-Mart you will come to a signal light and you need to turn left onto Gaines School Road. There will be a Krystal on your right, and gas stations on the other three corners. Stay on Gaines School Road for 1.3 miles. Shortly after you pass a Blockbuster on your left, you will see Covenant Presbyterian Church on your left. The entrance to the church parking lot will be on your left, before you get to the next signal light.

FROM AUGUSTA VIA I-20:
If you take I-20 from Augusta, you will want to get off at the Madison, GA, exit and travel north to Athens on Highway 441,following the directions (see below) FROM THE SOUTH.

FROM THE NORTH (Clarkesville, Cleveland, Commerce, etc.):
If you are traveling to Athens on Highway 441 from Commerce, as you near Athens you will pass J & J Flea Market on your left.  Farther up the road you will pass Bulldog Inn and Grainger Company on your right. Go under the overpass, following the signs for 441 South and 10 Loop East. Turn left at the signal light and get on the loop. Travel 1.4 miles and then yield/exit to the right, following the signs for 441 South, Highway 129, Watkinsville, and Lexington. Travel another 2-2.5 miles to Exit #13 – Athens Airport/Washington/Lexington. You will exit to the right; stay in the right lane, and at the second light you will turn right onto Barnett Shoals Road. You will stay on Barnett Shoals Road for 1.8 miles until you come to a traffic light with Eckerd’s on your right and Bank of America on your left. Go through the light, entering the Green Acres neighborhood. Turn into the first driveway on your left. A basketball court/pavilion will be on your right and Covenant Presbyterian Church will be straight ahead of you, with parking spaces available.
FROM THE NORTHWEST (Dahlonega, Gainesville, etc.)
You will travel into Athens on Highway 129/Jefferson Road. As you near Athens, you will pass the Country Club on your left and a gas station and shopping center on your right. Cross over the bridge and get in the left hand lane, following the signs for Highway 129 South and 10 Loop North. You will turn left (at the second or third light) to get on the loop. A Regions Bank will be on your right. Follow the signs for Highway 441 South, Highway 129, Watkinsville, and Lexington. As you follow those signs, you will yield/exit to the right. Travel another 2-2.5 miles to Exit #13 – Athens Airport/Washington/Lexington. You will exit to the right; stay in the right lane, and at the second light you will turn right onto Barnett Shoals Road. You will stay on Barnett Shoals Road for 1.8 miles until you come to a traffic light with Eckerd’s on your right and Bank of America on your left. Go through the light, entering the Green Acres neighborhood. Turn into the first driveway on your left. FROM THE SOUTH (Milledgeville, Eatonton, Monticello, Madison, etc.):
Travel north to Athens on Highway 441. As you are nearing Athens you will pass Friendship Presbyterian Church up on a hill on your left and the entrance to Athens Academy will be across the road on your right. Continue on 441 for 1 mile, going through the signal light at the bottom of the hill (White Oak Drive), over the bridge, and then turn right, following the signs for 441 North, 129 North, and 10 Loop North. You will travel for 2.5 miles to Exit #14, College Station Road. You will exit to the right and then turn right onto College Station. Stay on College Station Road for 2.1 miles, getting into the left hand lane when convenient. When the road dead-ends at a signal light (there will be a gas station on your left), turn left onto Barnett Shoals. When possible, get into the right hand lane and travel a half-mile, passing a shopping center on your right and fast food restaurants on your left. When you come to the next light,
(with an Eckerd’s on your left and Athens First Bank on your right), turn right into the Green Acres neighborhood. Then turn into the first driveway on your left. A basketball court/pavilion will be on your right and Covenant Presbyterian Church will be straight ahead of you, with parking spaces available.
