| Multi-Cultural Ministry |
In collaboration with the Witness Ministry team and the Athens Presbyterian Churches (UPUSA), Covenant is involved in supporting the Friendship multi-cultural congregation. Representatives from each Presbyterian congregation serve on the Multi-cultural Council which meets about 8 times a year. The goal is to support Friendship Presbyterian Church which has become a multi-cultural congregation reaching out to people of all cultures with specific emphasis upon the Hispanic population in the Athens area. Covenant provides financial support to help provide a salary for their part-time Parish Associate Minister, Jose Torres, who gives specific pastoral attention in assimilating those of different ethnic backgrounds into the full ministry of Friendship Church. barriers to employment;
• Help individuals improve their knowledge, skills
and education, including the ability to speak and read
