WEEKLY
SUNDAY:
Corporate Worship8:30 am Worship resumes September 21 and 11:00 am Worship resumes August 17. Nurseries for infants through preschoolers are staffed by volunteers. Holy Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month.
Church School all ages at 9:40 am (some exceptions, not in July) Classes are offered for everyone, including four adult groups (Bible Study, Christian Doctrine and Christian Living) and a college and career group. The Workshop Rotation Model (WoRM) is for ages Kindergarten thru 5th grade. We teach major Bible stories and concepts through child-friendly multimedia workshops that emphasize Art, Drama, Music, Games, A-V, Puppets, Storytelling, and Science. Youth Groups one for Middle School and one for High School, meet every Sunday at 5:00pm. Their agenda includes supper (served by adults), program and recreation. The youth have a Fall and Spring Retreat, plus occasional special activities that they plan. Covenant Youth participate in Northeast Georgia Presbytery youth functions, including Middle School camp and the High School Youth Conference. The Youth go to Montreat in January and June.

Adult Bible Studies
Beginning September 3 through May on Wednesdays, 10:00am and 6:30 pm, with the Pastors. This semester we will study the book of Genesis.
Covenant Connection
August through April, 4:30-7:15pm
THURSDAYS:
Knitters and Knotters at 2pm join us for a great time of fellowship and ministry as we join together to make blankets, hats, scarves, etc. for those in need. Everyone is invited, beginners are welcome!
ALIVE AT 7!-Covenant's new contemporary service every Thursday, beginning August 14 at 7pm. Where we work on our faith and put our faith to work. Live Band. Casual dress. Serious Worship! Please Join US!

Children's Choir
meets September-April during Covenant Connections with two groups.
The Carol Choirfor ages 5yrs.old-2nd grade meets Wednesday at 5:00-5:45pm.
Joy Choirfor ages 3rd-5th grade meets Wednesdays at 6:30-7:15pm.
Adult Choirmeets September-May. The Adult Choir meets each Wednesday at 7:25pm
Chime Choir First meeting August 23, Saturday, 9:00 am - 10:15am. We play for worship 4-5 times a year. Please Join Us!
CURRENT GROUPS USING COVENANT'S FACILITY:
New Freedom Group on Tuesday and Friday evenings, and Happy Squares meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday. The facility may be used periodically by other non-profit groups for special meetings.
Monthly
The Sessionincludes eighteen elders and the ministers. It has a Stated Session Meeting the second Sunday of each month at 6:00pm. Tthe first and third Sunday of each month we receive new members. A person may become a confirmed member of Covenant Church through profession of faith, reaffirmation of faith, or transfer of letter.
Presbyterian Women (PW)meets the second Thursday of each month at the church at 9:30am. Refreshments and fellowship are followed with a Bible Study led by the pastors, followed by a business meeting. A nursery is provided. Learn about the many ways that Christ's jubilee message turned the world upside down, exalting the poor and including outsiders, bringing the love of God to all in "Jubilee! Luke's Gospel for the Poor."
The Graduates-for Covenant's Retirees Our retirees of all ages and stages have an active fellowship, enjoying new & old friends. Join us second Tuesdays of the month for a delicious Covered Dish Luncheon, an engaging program, and lots of fun and conversation.
Men's Luncheon Group (Lunch Bunch)is a fellowship group which meets the last Tuesday of each month at Shoney's (Lexington Rd.) at noon.
Ladies Luncheon Groupis a fellowship group which meets monthly at a chosen location.
Covered Dish Suppersare held almost every month from September to May. Suppers begin at 6:00pm on Sunday evening and are followed by a specific program (stewardship, missions, Christmas, etc.). A preschool children's fellowship is available during the program following supper unless the program is inclusive of all ages.
Special Events
Small Groups are organized for a period of study and growth as needs and interests develop.
Winter Special Eventsare highlighted with a Christmas Choral Program and Candlelight Christmas Eve Services. "Heart of Covenant" Dinner is held in February. Also, Covenant sponsors a basketball team in the Athens Recreation League.
Spring Special Holy Weekactivities always include a Ash Wednesday Service, Maundy Thursday Service, Good Friday service, an Easter Egg Hunt for children, and an Easter Sunrise service with breakfast following the service.
Summer Covenantholds one Family Swim at Green Acres Pool (August), a coffee house (July). The church periodically attends a Braves game.
Outreach
Covenant's scope of service is broad. We help deliver Meals On Wheels, have a Clothes Closet, and have a drive twice a year for the Emergency Food Bank. We are also involved in other community groups such as The Ark and the Athens Area Homeless Shelter, Interfaith Hospitality, Habitat for Humanity, Our Daily Bread, Jubilee Partners, Project Safe, Hispanic Ministry, and People of Hope.
Assessment
Covenant continually evaluates its goals and considers new programs. As additional leadership is developed, the prospects for attaining new goals will become a reality. We seek to be good stewards for our Lord Jesus Christ as we serve Him each day of our lives as individuals and as a community of faith.
